FAQ
How is this different from Image to PDF?
Image to PDF simply places your photo onto a PDF page as-is. Document Scanner detects the document's edges, straightens out the angle the photo was taken at, and can optionally add searchable text — it's built for photos of paper documents, not general images.
What if the automatic edge detection gets it wrong?
Drag any of the four corner handles to adjust the detected area manually before continuing — automatic detection works well on a clear, contrasting background but isn't perfect on every photo.
What does "Searchable PDF" mean?
A normal scan is just a picture of text — you can't select or search it. A searchable PDF has an invisible text layer added underneath the image, so you can select, copy, and search the text while the page still looks like the original scan.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
Edge detection, perspective correction, and filters all run entirely in your browser. If you turn on searchable text, that text recognition also runs on-device using the same engine as Image to Text — nothing is uploaded.
