FAQ

Why is the output always MP3?

MP3 at a lower bitrate is what actually shrinks the file — WAV can't be compressed this way since it's uncompressed by design.

What bitrate should I pick?

96 kbps is a solid balance for speech and podcasts. For music, 128–192 kbps keeps more detail at a larger size.
